THE SHORTER VERSION: Lexi & Tommy met through mutual friends after years of rolling in the same friend groups. THE BETTER VERSION: Lexi and Tommy’s journey began long before they officially met. Though their paths had crossed many times, they didn’t connect until they were 22 and 24, respectively. Both growing up on Long Island, they attended neighboring high schools—Lexi at St. Anthony’s and Tommy at St. Dominic's—graduating just a year apart. Yet, somehow, they managed to miss each other during those years. At St. Anthony’s, Lexi became close friends with two girls, Kayla and Mary-Kate. As time went on, their bond only grew stronger. Kayla went off to Marist College, where she met Anthony Salvi. On weekends, Anthony would often bring his best friend along—Tommy, who didn’t attend Marist but was always part of the group. Through countless hangouts and weekends together, Lexi and Tommy’s circles merged. The real twist came when they realized that Tommy was actually Mary-Kate’s cousin, adding even more “small world” energy to their story! But the connections didn’t stop there. Kristy, Lexi’s best friend since childhood, had started dating Mike Stippell—Tommy’s best friend from St. Dominic’s—during college. How random was it that they had three different connections through three separate people?! Mike and Kristy would always tell Lexi and Tommy that they should hang out because they were "basically the same person." Turns out, they weren’t wrong. In the summer of 2018, everything changed during a trip to the Jersey Shore. It was there that Tommy really noticed Lexi. One night at the bar, they realized they were some of the only ones in their group who didn’t go to Marist, which gave them even more to talk about. After that weekend at the shore, they went their separate ways, returning home to Long Island. As the summer flew by, Tommy couldn’t stop thinking about Lexi. He constantly asked his friends Kristy and Mike to "hook him up with Kristy's blonde friend," to which Lexi would always reply, "Um, no, that's Mary-Kate's cousin!"—though she was clearly faking how cute she thought Tommy was. By the end of the summer, Kristy invited Lexi to Mike’s birthday party, where Tommy had a plan to finally get Lexi’s attention. And, once again, the stars aligned! Lexi couldn’t believe how her best friend, who had no ties to St. Anthony’s or Marist, was dating Tommy’s best friend. The universe was clearly working its magic. When they started their relationship, both Lexi and Tommy worked in the city. Tommy would often travel into the city on days he didn’t need to for work (secretly) just to see Lexi after the long day; sometimes only take the train home together, grab dinner, or take a walk around NYC. Their date nights became a regular thing: trying new foods, blasting their favorite tunes in the car, riding bikes, grabbing ice cream, attending sports games, and going to concerts. They made their relationship official on November 11th, 2018. Since then, their adventures have taken them all over the country together; from the US to the Caribbean to London to Sunnyhill.. their most favorite is just relaxing on the couch watching the New York Mets, win or lose. From their very first date and the very first laugh together, they knew they had found the one. After five years together, Tommy proposed on March 22nd, 2024, at The Lannin in Eisenhower Park—where they will also celebrate their wedding reception on October 24th, 2025. They can’t wait to make it official, surrounded by their amazing families and loyal friends!
