Lexi and Tommy’s story began long before they officially met. Both grew up on Long Island, shared countless mutual friends, and were always just one connection away—but somehow, their paths never crossed. Their worlds were already intertwined in surprising ways. Tommy is cousins with one of Lexi’s closest friends from high school, and Lexi’s childhood best friend dated Tommy’s best friend (who are now married—shoutout Kristy & Mike!). Friends were always saying, “You’d love my friend, you two are basically the same person.” Still, while Tommy was definitely interested, Lexi wasn’t so sure. (“Umm… that’s Mary-Kate’s cousin!”) Everything changed in the summer of 2018 during a trip to the Jersey Shore, when their friend groups finally linked up. For the first time, Lexi and Tommy were in the same place at the same time. They even snapped a selfie to send to Kristy and Mike—finally putting faces to all the stories they’d heard about each other. That’s when Tommy first noticed Lexi’s quick wit and funny personality, and when Lexi began to see the kind, genuine side of Tommy. After that weekend, the summer flew by, but they both had each other in the back of their minds. When Mike’s birthday rolled around at the end of the summer, they knew they’d both be there—and Tommy was determined to finally make his move. At that party, he did exactly that, and from that night on, everything clicked. Once they started dating, Tommy would hop on the train into the city just to pick Lexi up from work—even on days he wasn’t working there himself. Their days quickly filled with dinner dates, New York sports games, bike rides, concerts, traveling, and plenty of late-night ice cream runs. Even though Mets baseball ran in Lexi’s family (special shoutout to Mamar, who worked as a ticket manager for 40 years!), she hadn’t quite joined the bandwagon herself. That changed very quickly. Now, most spring and summer nights—and yes, October baseball too—you’ll find them at Citi Field, cheering on the Mets with their crew of friends. They made it official on November 11, 2018, and from their very first laugh together, they knew this was something special. Five years later, Tommy proposed, and this October they’ll begin their next chapter together, saying “I do” with all the family and friends who made their story possible.
