Tom and Zendaya famously met during an audition for Spider-man: Homecoming. Tom remembers the meeting as awkward because of a hug or no hug miscommunication. Zendaya doesn't remember any awkwardness and just remembers thinking Tom was really nice. For Tom, it was love at first sight and even though she denied it for years, it was the same for Zendaya.

It all happened when Zendaya tricked Tom into playing Truth or Dare with him. It was something that they did together as a couple. The game ended with Zendaya asking Tom to marry her, and Tom awkwardly chuckling and thinking that maybe she was joking around. Tom was so surprised that he almost fell on the ground and rolled a bit. Tom said yes of course and Zendaya gave him a signet ring similar to the one he lost. On her birthday, Tom proposed and put a ring on it.
