SLO is about 190 miles from LAX, a 3.5 hour drive. You'll pass through Gina's alma mater, Santa Barbara, on this route. If you have time to grab a bite or take a beach walk along the way, we'd love to give you some recommendations on where to go!
Flight
The San Francisco Airport is 220 miles from SLO, about a 3.5 to 4 hour drive. On this route, you could take a detour to Monterey or Carmel-by-the-Sea, or even to Big Sur, where Tom and I got engaged, if you have an extra full night to spare.
Flight
SBP is the local San Luis Obispo airport. You can fly direct into SBP from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, and Phoenix on American Airlines, United Airlines, or Alaska Airlines. SLO is a small town, so you would be able to take a quick Uber or Lyft to your lodging. There are quite a few flights from Knoxville and Nashville with just one stop in one of the above cities - United looks to be the best option!
Train
The Pacific Surfliner can take you from Southern California to San Luis Obispo, as well! From San Diego, it's about an 8.5 hour trip. It will be 6.5 hours from Anaheim, 5 hours from Los Angeles, and about 2.5 hours from Santa Barbara. An easy way to kick back and enjoy a beer on the ride up. Bonus, the train route is gorgeous, especially once you get through Los Angeles.
