Cocktail attire is a balance between formal and casual and elegant and comfortable. To an event with this dress code, such as a wedding, men typically wear a suit and tie (optional for our wedding) while women wear a cocktail dress. The goal is to look polished and put together but not overly elaborate.
Our ceremony and reception will take place in the Prince Edward Ballroom at St. Clements Castle & Marina. In addition to the ballroom, we will have access to the original estate's "stables" (which provide little stations for conversation, casual drinks and cozy feeling) and the Dunegal Bar. There is a small outdoor courtyard that our guests will have access to - however this will not have outdoor heating. As this is a winter wedding, we recommend layers. Dancing is an excellent and encouraged way to stay warm!
At this time we are asking guests to find their own way of transportation to the venue. Ubers are readily available in the the areas of the hotels (if you're staying at one of the ones listed in our blocks) and in the area of Portland to take you where you need to to go. Parking is also free and plentiful at the venue. Our event will be in the Prince Edward Ballroom side of St. Clements Castle. As you come down the entrance drive from the road, you will follow the road towards the right. Signage will be posted.
We politely ask you to leave your precious treasures at home with a trusted and watchful guardian. However, if you do plan to travel with your children we are happy to provide a small list of able-bodied babysitters in the area that you can connect with and discuss your needs.
Yes, we have opted for an open bar (yay!) Tipping is encouraged for excellent service.
Yes! We have decided on the lovely (and warm) Cancun Mexico. This will be our first international adventure together. Our flight leaves Sunday afternoon - and staying roughly a week. We have set up the option for donation to some of our activities on our registry for anyone who would be inclined to contribute.
We have been living together for the better part of a decade... In that time we've collected a lot of the standard newlywed wares. Additionally, Tom works for Wayfair - giving us premium access to all the home furnishings we could ask for. We, as a couple, are humbly asking instead that those interested in providing a gift consider making a donation to a number of areas that we could use the support in.
