How we met

First comes school, then years of rich memories, then finally marriage!

We met in Culinary School at High School as babies! We were classmates for over a whole school year before we really met each other! I switched culinary section groups in November 2009. BEST THING I COULD HAVE DONE. I was directed to work in the dining room, where he was also working. We had mutual friends and we were both very shy.. BUT with the help of my best friend who saw the potential magic before we did.. upon the first "Hello" we connected right away! Dave thought I was the "cutest little red head". I thought he was the "cutest little nerdy chef". He was my rock through the immense stress of senior project. Long phone calls and lunch buddies. I was not looking for this at all, but we became the best of friends! I thought "okay this could be something.....". In January I was sent to Bakery and him to Kitchen. He never stopped making cute figurines, sending little messages, and doing adorable faces to put a smile on my face and make it known I was seen and special. He asked me on our first date for Valentines Day 2010. After Cold Stone Creamery and a Movie - he gave me the gift of a Band Tee. I was sold! After some pretty hard work on his end I finally took the school bus to his house on March 8th 2010.... the rest was history! Fun fact: the movie we saw on our first date is coming out with it's second movie the year we get married, neat huh?!

The Proposal

Flight in as a couple on a normal day, Flight out Engaged in a full pandemic

We booked our 10 year Anniversary trip weeks before hearing of Covid-19. Rumors and little news reports later we still boarded a flight to Mexico. Little did I know D had this plan up his sleeve. The first full day I wanted to enjoy the beach and hotel but Dave insisted we do something extravagant for our 10th year together. He rented us a scooter bike to drive around the whole Island! We hoped on the bike and started on an amazing adventure together. Under an hour in and our Bike broke down. The alternator blew. We did not fret because it was a special day, we patiently waited 45 minutes on the side of the road in 85 degrees for a replacement bike. All is well because we hopped back on the new bike and continued our journey to beautiful beach sites, culture, and yummy restaurants. We finally reached the other side of the Island where there was this huge cliff with a Bar on top. We trekked up to the top, caught our breath, and discovered this amazing private clearing on the edge of the cliff looking over the ocean. He knew that was it. After a bit of time soaking up the view and feeling of awe and overwhelm. He asked me to Marry Him and got on one knee. I couldn't believe it! The most caught off guard surprise... the biggest heart swelling moment of my life!!!!! If only i could express the feeling of that moment. The best souvenir to come home with, a Fiance. When we entered the USA life was not the same. We did not see any family for over a month and could not celebrate. So here we are two tough years later - we could not be more grateful to share this special place with you and finally get stinking married.

For all the days along the way
