Home to Skyline Drive - one of the country's most famously scenic drives. Host to over 500 miles of hiking trails for all levels of expertise. We recommend downloading the AllTrails app for trail guides and helpful information.
Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
The Smithsonian has another Air and Space Museum near Dulles International Airport. Due to its location, it has something Washington, D.C. cannot accommodate - a massive hangar filled with historic aircraft/spacecraft and an observation tower where you can watch flights take off from IAD.
National Mall
A great central location for those wanting to see our nation's capital. Within walking distance you'll find the Lincoln Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, White House, Capitol, WWII/Vietnam/Korean War Memorials. Lining either side of the National Mall, you'll find the Smithsonian museums - always free. Some museums require (free) timed-entry passes to enter. These are available online at each museum's webpage. Plan ahead!
