Benagil Cave Tour
We STRONGLY suggest you make time to see this natural wonder by land and also by sea. There are many companies who offer the boat tour to the Benagil caves and the hotel concierge can help arrange one for you. We used the tour company that left from Praia de Marinha-This beach is a Lovely 15 to 20 minute walk from the back of our hotel. Our tour was by speed boat and lasted two hours. It cost approximately $30 per person. Please click on the photo above to learn more about this attraction. N.B.-This is one of the stops on the Seven Hanging Cliffs hike that will be led by Timothy on 7/17/24.
Hiking
There are many trail for hiking in the Algarve region but the Seven Hanging Valley's Trail is one the the most beautiful day treks on the Algarve coast and among the best hikes in all of Portugal. The trail starts in Carvoiero and can be easily accessed from the back of the hotel. Along the trail there are breathtaking view of the Altantic ocean, the cliffs and many beautiful hidden beaches. The trail is 7.4 miles long and no special gear is needed-just your sneakers, shorts, a hat, sunscreen and hydration. Timothy will be leading a hike along this trail on Thurday July 17 for any and all who are interested. More details to come regarding this!
Golf Algarve
There are many golf courses in the Algarve region. The two closest golf courses are: Gramacho and Vale da Pinta (5 to 15 minutes distance by car from the hotel). For more information and to check availability at your chosen coures and to book a tee time, please email Ms. Patricia Moita at the Tivoli hotel. Her email address is: P.moita@tivoli-hotel.com Please note that the golf courses will charge if cancelation is made 15 days before game date, in this case green fees must be guaranteed by credit card before arrival. The handicap certificates will be required as well at the golf course (Gentlemen 28, Ladies 36).
Carvoeiro Tennis Club
We have many tennis players in the group and we suggest using the Saturday after the wedding to join some friends on a court. These are all nearby a nice way to spend the Saturday following the wedding. Best advice is to choose based upon the vibe-some are for relaxing while others are for dancing. Porches Pottery
Portugal is known for its pottery and tiles. A short 15 minute ride from the hotel you will find Porches Pottery We are for over 50 years they have hand making and hand painting pottery. The pieces are as well-made as they are beautiful.
Boat/Yacht Charters
For a fun Saturday activity consider exploring the Algarve by sea! The Tivoli Carvoeiro Hotel works with several boat companies and are happy to assist in making reservations. There are many options and you can either email us or the hotel to get more information. Please note that theses tours cannot be booked in advance because it is always subject if the sea conditions are good or not. We advise you to book it near the date as the company only confirms the tours near the tour day. Note also that the prices can change at any time before your arrival.
