Tim and Taylor (TNT) met in May of 2016 at a friend of Taylor's apartment in Manayunk, Philadelphia. Tim was expecting to stay at the friend-of-a-friend's apartment for no more than one hour. That was before he saw Taylor. One hour quickly turned into six, and Tim knew that this was something special. After all, Taylor was laughing at his dumb jokes all night! Like any self-respecting Millennial, Tim took to Taylor's DMs after that night. Spending hours talking back and forth, with some light flirting mixed in, TNT knew that there was a connection between them that had serious potential. Unfortunately, Tim would not be around for long. You see, he was going to Italy with his family for 14 days right after the two had met, and then was to move to Lima, Peru for 6 months to work for a non-profit organization swiftly upon his return from Europe. Scared about how their budding relationship would be affected by this massive physical distance, Tim knew that he needed to see Taylor one last time before moving to South America. While his original plan was to stay at his sister's apartment close to Philly the night before he left for Peru, Tim blew off those plans (Sorry Suz!) and spent his last night in the country with Taylor. During Tim's time in Lima, Taylor proved to be an irreplaceable, invaluable support system for the young Fickenscher. Doubting himself about why he chose to move to the second-poorest district in the capital of Peru without speaking a lick of Spanish, Taylor kept him focused and believing in himself. If it were not for Tim being able to call Taylor every night in Peru, there is no doubt that he would not have been able to make it the six months he had promised without some kind of serious breakdown. Talking every day, Tim and Taylor's relationship began to flourish, and the two started to fall in love across continents. While Taylor would keep Tim updated on how well she was doing in beer pong, Tim would recount how many stray dogs he saw in Lima on his four minute walk to work. Either way, the two refused to give up on their potential, and Tim went for a Hail Mary play when he asked if Taylor wanted to visit him in Peru over Thanksgiving. With some encouragement from her parents, Taylor decided to say Yes to Tim. Taylor agreed to visit him in a continent she had never been to, whose native language she could not speak...love sure does make you do crazy things, folks. Let's be reminded that the two had only been in the same physical space just THREE times before Taylor took a massive chance on love by visiting Tim in Peru. The trip went off without a hitch (outside of being yelled at for giggling too much during a tour of Lima's catacombs), and the two lovers once again received confirmation that this relationship had some strong legs. Tim came back from Peru shortly after, and the two decided to spend December 23rd in Times Square. As their phones were dying, they got lost in New York City. Scared, the two had to trust one another to eventually find their way to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, and then back to the last bus of the night home. After facing so much together in the span of seven months, Tim took the moment they had together in front of that tree, in the eye of the storm, to ask Taylor to be his girlfriend. She once again said Yes to him, and their love has only been growing stronger every day since. The seven years TNT have spent together since their star-crossed meeting has built a strong foundation of love that is ready to take on the world.
