We love that for us

Marie and Tim both attended Syracuse University and graduated the same year. Marie went to all of Tim’s a cappella shows which sounds cute but is really just a coincidence. They didn’t know each other literally at all, but their friends did. (We love friends!) A few years later, they were both living in NYC. Tim’s friends found a Groupon for a St. Patrick’s Day Booze Cruise and decided to book it. Tim said thanks but no thanks, but they dragged him out anyway after his friend Bryce couldn’t go. (We love friends!) Marie's friend Kyle saw the same Groupon and got a group of friends on board, but not before standing in line for 45 minutes only to be told that they "don't accept Groupons at this window." (We love friends!) As fate and Groupon® would have it, the ship finally set sail. After some drinking, waving and *deeply* discounted customer service, the two 'Cuse groups came together, and Tim and Marie met. Tim said a very smooth pick-up line that was definitely on purpose and got Marie's number. And then she didn’t text him back for weeks! 🥰 The rest is his story and her story.

For absolutely no reason (and much to Marie's annoyance), Tim has joked that his lifespan would be exactly 30 years to the day. When the day came, Marie threw a killer surprise 30th birthday party *wink* that was actually a cover to a surprise second 30th birthday party that was also a funeral that Tim had no idea about, but with the help of friends, still turned into a surprise proposal, making the entire day a surprise engagement funeral 30th birthday party!
