Flight

Long Beach Airport, LAX, John Wayne

Long Beach Airport is the easiest and closest to the Catalina Express main terminal in Long Beach. LAX is about 25-45 min north and John Wayne is about 30-45 min south

Train

Catalina Express (a boat actually cause it's an island!)

Catalina Express's main terminal is in Long Beach. They also offer departures from San Pedro and Dana Point. Long Beach has general seating and also Commodore Lounge (priority boarding and free drink).

Flight

Island Express Helicopter

If a boat isn't your thing, you can always take a helicopter to Avalon. It's a bit more expensive but it only takes 15 min vs an hour and 15 on the boat.

We have blocked several rooms here and the link below takes you to the discounted rate. This hotel has a shuttle from boat and downtown and the hotel. There's also a pool. Great for families but is "out of town." Also, all rooms are newly renovated.

Journey Catalina aka Catalina Transportation Services

Some hotels offer a shuttle to and from the boat, but if yours doesn't you can always take a taxi. The town in only about 1 square mile so most things are within walking distance.
