We're double tying the knot!

Kymel Yard and Tiffany Dubon met in August of 2011 at an off campus student housing unit in Binghamton, NY. They had a rather heated and interesting discussion about calling Latinx people Spanish and/or Hispanic. Tiffany's rebuttals intrigued Kymel, and his way of challenging sparked an interest in her as well. By Thanksgiving 2011 Tiffany met Kymel's parents and the rest is history. We're most proud at how hard we work on our relationship especially after enduring a difficult 4 years of long distance relationship within their 8 year relationship. They've truly found their yin to their yangs.

Kymel proposed on December 28th, 2019 at his family's annual Kwanzaa celebration. Kymel asked her father Wilfredo Dubon for Tiffany's hand in marriage on Christmas Eve and they went ring shopping the day after Christmas. He surprised Tiffany because she knew his cousin Lauren Best was going to be proposed to at Kwanzaa, but was not expecting Kymel to pop the big question right after Lauren and Raymond's proposal. It was a beautiful night full of love!

So family and friends as you all know the world got hit with COVID-19. Even though the bride and groom had to reschedule the wedding celebration for 2021, they did not want to lose their precious anniversary date! So the decision was to get married anyways, 20 close family members and the bridal party witnessed the union of Tiffany Dubon and Kymel Yard on October 25th, 2020 at 3:00PM at LaVerne King's house (mother of the groom). It was intimate, something that the bride originally wanted. Due to travel restrictions caused by the pandemic Tiffany's parents and siblings could not travel from Florida, because of this and for everyone who wanted to witness their union, the couple set up a Zoom event for their wedding and live streamed the entire event. Tiffany using her new gained tech skills set up the cameras and had one of her bridesmaids run the Zoom room. They held the ceremony inside the house and the small reception was set up in the yard. Everyone was masked and tested negative prior to the wedding. The couple looks forward to celebrating big in 2021 with all of you!
