Love Begins Love began to brew in 1989, when Eric first laid eyes on Tiffany at church youth group. Dubbing her as “the most beautiful girl in the room,” Eric secretly asked God to give her to him. In the summer of 1991, Eric, a Morehouse engineering major, asked Tiffany, a Rutgers polisci major, on a date. After a meal at Olive Garden, Eric took Tiffany for a walk on the beach at Long Branch, NJ. That fall, they returned to school just remaining friends and would not speak again for 30 years! Eric attended Princeton for seminary, entered the ministry, and started a family of his own. Tiffany obtained graduate degrees and embarked upon her legal career, entered the ministry, and started a nonprofit. Purpose in the Pain…He Spoke Her Name! In 2020, Eric experienced the unfathomable pain of losing his spouse of 21 years during Covid-19, after having survived Covid-19 himself. As he and his daughter began the healing journey, Eric cried out to the Lord to “show me, my wife.” The Lord answered by speaking the name, “Tiffany Williams is your wife.” In disbelief given the 30-year gap in communication, Eric sought confirmation that he had heard correctly for several months. After Eric’s daughter expressed a desire to attend law school, he reached Tiffany to ask her for guidance for his daughter. In January 2021, Eric called Tiffany to thank her for speaking with his daughter and 9 hours of conversation later Eric courageously told Tiffany that in the midst of his darkest pain, God had spoken her name. Before reconnecting with Eric, Tiffany had prayed for God to speak her name to her husband. God answered when Eric called. Love Brews By Valentine’s Day, Tiffany and Eric knew that this was no ordinary love. Eric courted Tiffany culminating on May 29, 2021, where Eric serenaded Tiffany on the piano and asked her to be his wife in front of her family and friends. She said YES!
