Meet the friends that we call family!

Samantha Preddy

Matron of Honor

Tiffany and I met while working at the Downtown YMCA. I was drawn to Tiffany’s bubbly and hard-working personality and she put off amazing energy. I instantly started planning on how to get her to work with my department. A few months later, it happened! She “moved” upstairs and we instantly became friends. We chatted constantly, had the same vision for children in the community, and plotted to change the world together. Once we had worked together for a few months, I rearranged our offices by moving Tiffany’s desk right next to mine. While it was much to her dismay, it made us even closer as friends and the rest is history! Tiffany is one of my closest friends, she’s incredibly loyal, caring, and witty. I’m beyond blessed to have her in my life for so many years!

I met Tiff aka “TP” in 2002, at First Colonial high school through our mutual best-friend Jerrica. What I love about TP is that showing up her love language. When my husband and I had our son Milo, TP drove from Richmond to DC just to check on us and drove back the same day. The love she has for my family is the reason why she is the God-mother to my son. Tiff acts tough, but she is a loving, passionate, and a loyal best-friend. God intended for Tiff and I to be best-friends, he knew we both needed a friend to hold us accountable and to bring out the best in each other.

I met Ellis in the 9th grade at First Colonial High School. We had English together and he would never let me sleep in class lol. The crazy thing is we basically grew up in the same neighborhood, but didn’t officially meet until 2003, small world. For as long as I’ve known him he’s been solid, he’ll never let you down. It’s truly been a blessing to have him as a friend. I consider him my brother.

I have known Tiffany all my life (she's my big sister!). She has been front and center guiding me through all my stages, even the awkward ones. Our journey through life has not always been easy, but I have always admired her dedication and strength to achieve her goals. She's selfless and I have seen firsthand how genuine and pure her heart is. I’m very thankful and grateful to have her as my sister, but I am also so grateful that we have been able to grow not only as women, but as friends. I am so happy for Tiffany and Ellis! I’m thankful that they’ve always being there for me and for being the best “parents” a girl can have.

I’ve known Tiffany for 23 years. We met in the 5th grade and became best friends fast. We went to different high schools, but God made sure we continued to cross paths. As I was moving into my college dorm, I heard my sister yell, “OH MY GOSH, Look who it is!” I stepped out of my room to see Tiffany and my sister screaming and hugging. I was confused at first, but then quickly realized that we had unknowingly enrolled into the same college, assigned to the same dorm, and our rooms were across the hall from one another. I knew in that moment that we were destined to be friends for life. We have been by each other’s side through some of the best and the most challenging times of our lives. The best for me has been during our journeys of strengthening our personal relationships with Christ.

When I met Olds in the7th grade, I had just transferred to the school we were introduced by a mutual friend. We'd all chill together at lunchtime which turned into 'Survival of the Fittest.' It was a war zone, but like every war, you meet people you'll know for the rest of your life. I remember throwing peaches on his white t-shirt and in return he threw stale nacho cheese on mine! Ever since then we hit it off, getting kicked out of class and playing intense 18 player games of UNO. We became tight as hell. I'm so lucky to have not only a friend, but a brother for life. Tiffany and Ellis: I love you and wish the greatest for the both of you. Congratulations!!

Tiffany and I met in middle school but our friendship really blossomed when we both made the JV Cheerleading team at First Colonial. From that moment on we were pretty inseparable. We went from fast friends to feeling more like sisters – and that wasn’t just because people confused us for one another or swore we were the same person. Tiff and I had an instant connection and just got each other, it’s something I’ve always valued about our friendship. Tiff’s heart for others, willingness to show up whenever you need her (no questions asked), and passion for serving the underserved are just a few of the reasons why I love her so much. She’s truly the big sister I never knew I needed but am so thankful God brought into my life.

I met Tiffany almost 18 years ago on the school bus going to First Colonial High School. We both shared similar thoughts about the bus rides and clicked ever since. I knew we’d be best friends because she was a true “Ride or Die” but it is the continual way that Tiff always shows up that confirms we will stay best friends. One moment in particular was when I was turning 23 years old and celebrated my birthday at a nightclub in Virginia Beach. Tiff lived in Richmond at the time and was not expected to come but mid-celebration, in true Tiff fashion, after a full work day and drive down, she surprised me, ran in the club, and was ready to turn up... all to celebrate me. I love that about her!

I met Ellis in 7th grade gym class. We used to play basketball and he was one of the only people who would pass me the ball lol. We’ve been tight ever since.
