Before we found each other, we each had a pretty clear idea about what we wanted in love. One of us wanted someone deeply compassionate, family-oriented, and who—let’s be honest—would lovingly spoil her. The other sought a partner committed to growth, emotional awareness, and someone who would love his family as her own. Spoiler alert: we both found exactly what we were looking for. Flashback to January 2022: the scene is set in the industrial-chic vibes of The Coffee House at West End. It was our first real-life meeting after some crappy app photos and good online chats. Tam thought, “Whoa, designer clothes? High maintenance!” but quickly discovered a shy sweetness behind the glam. Thu expected a deep, thoughtful conversation—and was relieved when Tam turned out exactly as advertised, mature vibe and all. Coffee turned into lunch, and lunch turned into realizing we could talk endlessly about books, growth, and stepping out of comfort zones. The “this could be serious” moment arrived differently for both of us. Thu vividly remembers when Tam stayed by his friend Samie’s bedside at the hospital, offering care and kindness. She thought, “This is someone genuinely good—someone worth holding onto.” For Tam, it clicked watching Thu at the family beach house. Seeing her playful, caring, and genuinely herself around family was the moment he knew, “Yep, this feels like home.” Gratitude comes easy between us. We’re thankful for how we communicate, especially when life hands us a curveball. Even during disagreements, there’s patience, openness, and loving respect. We’ve built a strong foundation because we talk things out regardless how difficult they may be. Now, what are we excited about as we approach our big day? Thu can’t wait to have everyone she loves in one place and finally hear those vows (hopefully remembering them better than the proposal!). Oh, and finally officially getting to call Tam hers forever, even though Tam has already been hers for over 3 years now. Tam is eager for our wedding day to showcase who we truly are to the people we love most.
