Karen Thai

Matron of Honor

Met Christina in pharmacy school sitting a row from each other due to alpha order by last name seating. She was a workaholic her first year so we rarely hung out. Wasn’t until she pledged to the same fraternity where she later became my little that I got the twofer deal: big and little turned best friends. We procrastinated on studying for yummy noms instead but always passed together! After pharmacy school, I moved back home, but our friendship remained and still share every milestone together! This isn’t my favorite photo of us but I chose it because the photographer was our third wheel -- Thomas, plus it's a photo with our true love, food. Guess he was tired of being our third wheel so he had to put a ring on it! Speaking of ring, he put me through so much anxiety delivering the beautiful ring from CA to LV under Christina’s nose, but so honored he allowed me to contribute to the turning point of their lives. Love every third wheeling date and couples trip we’ve had, looking forward to more! Grateful for all our experiences together thus far, more excited to witness their special day!

Best Man

I have known Thomas for a while, practically since I was born. There’s so much I could say about his growth through the years, but the amazing thing to watch is his development as a person and as a creative talent. For a person as soft spoken as he is, he never ceases to drop some big ideas down like starting up his own studios. I will say his biggest idea to date was when Christina came along and he decided that she was the one. As another soft spoken, big idea person, Christina was the perfect match. As much as I didn’t want to be the best man (cause I’d have to write a speech), I am honored to have been asked and be a part of this big day. Congratulations Christina and Thomas!

Christina and I have been friends since college days. We were both biochemistry majors and we became lab partners in all our science classes. Unfortunately for her, I kept screwing up our experiments, and yet she still stuck by me. She was so patient with me, even during times we were the last ones to leave the lab. Sorry Christina! After 5 years post undergrad, we really started getting into fitness, and we decided to complete a Spartan Trifecta together. I’m happy to say, we are both finishers!!! Our toughest race was the beast when Christina had to race in the scorching heat and I had to race in hail. She is a beast of a women. I met Thomas during one of our Spartan races, and I just know he is perfect for Christina. Thomas is just the sweetest person, very chill, and is up for any adventure. Thomas complements Christina in every way and I feel they will make a great team. I look forward to celebrating with both Christina and Thomas.

Thomas and I have known each other for what seems like forever. A friendship that started with playing ball in front of Adrian’s house as kids and went into dragging him to tennis tryouts summer of 2005 to going to college together, and now to a friendship where we both take L’s on the regular for SNKRS. Is it even called friendship at this point? It’s a brotherhood. Our friends say we bicker like a married couple. Well I’m glad Thomas has Christina because I’m tapping out. He’s her problem now. She can sign up for raffles at 7am. I love the love you have for each other.

We met Fall 2014 during pharmacy school. Through Kappa Psi, Christina and I began our journey towards becoming friends and eventually even housemates. We were probably destined to be friends since our initials are the same, CT (at least for now). From doggy play dates to bougie dinners, Christina is the type of friend who is down for any adventure, small or large. Right before Christina and Thomas started dating, we joked that Christina needed to find a roommate ASAP for the cruise we were about to go on. Sure enough, Thomas appeared on short notice and has not left her side since. I can't wait to see what other adventures ChrisTmas will go on (that I can hopefully tag along 😃).

Thomas and I first met at a mutual friend’s birthday party. Thomas was actually “trying” to bully me, but I was quick to call him out on it and came to realize that he was just socially awkward. We laughed it off and continued talking the rest of the party. Looking back at it now, had Thomas not approached me I probably wouldn’t have talked to anyone else at the party, let alone stay. And that’s the kind of person Thomas is. Always looking to make new friends. And I’m so thankful for his efforts, because I didn’t just make a friend, I gained a brother. Growing up together we shared a lot of the same joys. Joys such as sports, competing, and trips just to name a few. But throughout all that nothing brought more joy to him than having Christina in his life. I’m so excited for the big day and can’t wait to be up there with the two of you to celebrate your love!

I met Christina when I started working at Macy's. She was so easy to talk to get along with. We had so many great adventures since we met. The one I will never forget is the Hot Pot incident that I would forever have the scar (LOL). She was there thru some of my milestone and I am grateful to part of this milestone. I wish nothing but the best for Christina and Thomas in this new journey!!!

Thomas and I first met in elementary school. Like brothers we spent much time together playing sports, video games, and roller blading/riding our bikes together. One of my fondest memories is during recess we were trading sports cards and completely lost track of time to the point where we looked up and no one else was around any longer. Through the years we’ve grown together, learned together, and have stayed close together as friends and brothers. I am so happy for him and Christina and am happy to see one of my best friends and brother finally walk down the aisle and marry the girl of his dreams. Congratulations!

One time in Las Vegas, Christina and I got within like 3 feet of Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Christina got Morimoto to autograph his cookbook for her. It was amazing. See the pic above. One time in San Francisco, I ate Christina's only mushroom in a breakfast scramble and she's never forgiven me since. It wasn't even good. I hate mushrooms. Her matron of honor told me to do it. I have no regrets. One time in New York, we stood around for like 6 hours to watch the New Year's Ball Drop in person. We ate Halal Guys, Christina from the original cart, and I from an adjacent Halal Guys cart 50 feet down the street with a shorter line. We watched Mean Girls and ate while waiting. I still think the two Halal Guys carts tasted the same. It was fetch. One time on the ocean, we rode a boat around and I got to meet her very amazing husband-to-be. We also ate way too much food at meals and had late night pizza and ice cream parties. I think we all put on twenty pounds at sea, but we all know calories at sea don't count. It was fantastic. One time in pharmacy school, Christina and I met and became travel buddies and foodie friends. Many times during and after these experiences, I've known her to be determined and true, and a good person who's always willing to help her friends. Except in GTA Online. Then she'll murder you without remorse. But other than that, she has always offered me a room to stay and always done right by me. I am so happy for her and excited to be part of this day!

Thomas is one of the most genuine, supportive, and helpful guys I know. You can always rely on him to call you just to check in. He loves bringing people together and is always down for a good time even if it means he is fast asleep before the event is over. Thomas loves to joke around, but also has a way of having deeper conversations with those he cares about - showing that he is in your corner for the long run. It’s always about self awareness and improvement when talking with Thomas. He pushes you to become a better version of yourself and encourages you to reach your full potential. His positive outlook is reflected in his surrounding circle and it is almost guaranteed that you will run into another one of his friends when you go out with him. I’ve known Thomas for about two decades and he is the same guy I met back then, always cracking jokes and making the best of any situation. Grateful for our friendship and bound to bring joy to anyone close to him.

I have known Christina for over 10 years now. Christina, Diana and I met while working at Macy's in the shoe department. Even though we only worked together for a short time we had such a great time together making jokes and making a mess in the storeroom we have stayed friends ever since! I am Christina's "Gigantor" and when I'm not almost breaking her nose (sorry!), or making her laugh until she cries (your welcome), I love to just spend time with her and Thomas and see what amazing people they are, and watch how their wonderful life together has grown. Congratulations!

Thomas is a friend I've known since we were in middle school. He has always been a kind, generous, and passionate person. I'm glad to call you my friend. Congratulations to Thomas and Christina! I wish you both happiness, good health, and the occasional dinner at Joel Robuchon.

Christina as all of you know her, I know her as Chau. Chi Chau to be exact. She’s my cousin. Her and her mom moved in with me and our grandmother to live with from Vietnam. I was 9 and she was 13 at the time. When I found out this news I was super excited because I was the only child and felt like I finally had someone I can play with! But it was more like me bugging her most of the time :) I always admired how smart you were in school and how well you always did. And knew you’d make something of yourself one day. Not going to lie our upbringing was a little rough. And we were total opposites. Even though coincidentally our birthdays were 2 days apart which means we’re both Leo’s (fire signs) and also meant we shared many of our bdays together. But with everything that we both went through in our childhood I feel it molded us to be who we’ve become today. I’m extremely proud and happy for you and your career, to see how far you’ve came. And that you found someone like Thomas to love and share your life with. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the both of you. Wish you both many blessings and pure joy.

Thomas is one of my longest and best friends. He has always been a loyal, caring, and thoughtful friend. Our friendship was built on our love of sports, especially basketball. From playing basketball outside on our neighborhood street to now playing catch with my kids, can’t wait to see what the next chapter of his life has waiting for him.
