Our Story: Jaelyn’s Perspective <3

Hunter had popped up a few times here and there, but I never thought too much of it until I found out he would be interning at the church I work at. I immediately tell Jaden (bridesmaid) my thoughts about him and she told me that she had also thought a bit about me and Hunter as a couple. Time moves on and we work together and have some interactions, mostly at church. My favorite memory is when I was singing for church and he danced around in the crowd to “I Thank God” to make me smile because we had talked about it. I pondered and prayed about a relationship with Hunter. I know lists aren’t all that practical, but he checked off all the boxes. After that point he asked me on our first date and then our second, where he made it clear that he wasn’t in a place to get married in six months or anything and I agreed lol. Little did we know that just seven months later we’d be engaged and more than ready to spend our lives together.

Our Story: Hunter’s Perspective <3

When I first agreed to move back to Massachusetts I understood that I was leaving behind my best friends, my dream school, and my dream job all in pursuit of God’s calling. I felt like I was simply waking up, going to classes, doing work, and repeating the cycle endlessly with no real impact. That’s when the pastor of my church, Pastor Gary, came down to Liberty University to visit. We talked for a while and prayed, and he ultimately asked me to come back up to MA to intern at the church and begin my ministry there. Within a few weeks I found myself moving my whole life up north in search or a greater purpose, His purpose. Little did I know that also at this church was an amazing, God-fearing woman who I would be working alongside from time to time. While I wasn’t in search of a relationship, the Lord had a funny way of working in my life. I continued to get to know Jaelyn as a friend and tried to spend as much time with her as possible. It wasn’t too long into knowing her that I just acknowledged that there was something so special about her. And we clicked too! So I began to evaluate whether or not I wanted to ask her out in a date. This took much careful thought, prayer, and time as I wanted to ensure that I wasn’t getting ahead of myself. I began to ask those close to her questions to better understand her and to see who she is when she’s not with me. It was Sam (Best Man) who upon hearing of my interest in Jaelyn informed me just how important her faith is to her. It wasn’t long after that that I knew I was going to ask this girl out on a date, and not long after we had our second! As time passed I began to better answer the question of “can we serve God better together?” And while only Christ can complete me, Jaelyn compliments me in so many ways, and always points me back to Jesus! I couldn’t ask for a better wife, and I’m excited beyond belief to get married! My favorite memories of us are when we get to sing together in the car and belt music out.
