We're Getting Married!

Our love story began on May 5th, 2021, when Bridget and her friends, which includes Eddie's youngest sister Carolyn, decided to go out for tacos and margaritas. What started as a girls' night out quickly turned into a larger gathering when the entire Yerkes family showed up, fueled by talk about Eddie's interest in Bridget. Unfortunately, with a party of 14, Eddie and Bridget ended up on opposite sides of the table and unable to connect that evening. Fast forward a couple of months to Carolyn's birthday party at Paw Paw Lake. Eddie and Bridget finally had the chance to talk. On the party bus, Eddie was drawn to Bridget’s fun and positive energy as she was singing and dancing with Eddie's sister Katie. Both Eddie and Bridget share a love for karaoke, so that night at The Bend Bar, they each had the opportunity to showcase their singing skills. Bridget performed the classic "Any Man of Mine," while Eddie opted for the timeless "Run Around Sue." Three days later, they went on their first date, and the rest is history.

Everyone knows, Bridget is a sucker for a good sunset, especially a Long Beach sunset. This set the stage for Eddie to plan a sunset proposal, just a block away from where he first asked Bridget to be his girlfriend two years prior. The night started with an espresso martini at one of Bridget's favorite restaurants, Farina's Super Club on Stop 33. Eddie was very nervous that day. As he says, the only times Eddie has been nervous in their relationship was when he asked Bridget's parents, Mark and Cathy, for their blessing to marry their daughter, and when he was to get down on one knee and ask Bridget to marry him. The two headed back to Stop 21 for the sunset. As Bridget got out of the car, Eddie rushed to put the ring in his pocket without Bridget noticing. It was the perfect moment, with the sun starting to set into the water. They began to walk, and at just the right moment, Eddie got down on one knee and asked Bridget (see her reaction above). Eddie recalls his favorite part of that night was surprising Bridget, who thought her parents were not in town. Eddie insisted she FaceTime her mom to share the exciting news. Unfortunately, Bridget couldn't reach her, but what happened next was heartwarming. As Eddie and Bridget pulled up to the after-party venue, everyone outside was ready to greet them. There stood Bridget's mom and dad, smiling as Bridget broke into tears of joy.
