Travel Note
Bienvenue! We’re looking forward to seeing you in Switzerland. Remember to check all travel requirements so that you’re not caught unprepared. Note that different countries have different requirements. These can easily be found via Google. For example, the U.S. safety requirements related to COVID-19 may be found here: CDC COVID-19 Travel. Switzerland no longer implements national travel requirements. Instead, this responsibility has been turned over to the Cantons. The Geneva Canton does not require formal proof of vaccination or testing prior to entry. Conversely, in France the Ministry of the Interior requires proof of vaccination, or for unvaccinated persons a negative COVID-19 test is required for travel to France. Please be sure to check all requirements for travel to and from the countries on your itinerary so that you’re fully prepared to join us in July. https://www.ge.ch/en/covid-19-travelling-and-entry-switzerland https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/covid-19-international-travel

1. Flight Price Alerts: There are two free apps that are helpful when comparing airfares: "Hopper" and "Skyscanner." Once you download the app, you can plug in your travel dates and location of your arrival and departure airports. The apps will scan all the airline fares for those dates/locations and show you the best prices. You can sign up for alerts when the price for your preferred date/destination drops. The apps also give you recommendations on whether they think prices will continue to fluctuate or whether this is the lowest price they think you'll find before your travel dates. 2. Basic Economy versus Regular or Standard Economy: The cheapest fares will be found under "Basic Economy." But you may end up paying extra to check a bag and select a seat. Basic Economy tickets also usually require a fee to change your flight if need be. Standard/Regular/Preferred Economy usually gives you a free checked bag, some free seat selection and No Change Fees.
Travel Note
1. Passports If you need a passport or yours has expired, we recommend you start the process to apply for one or renew as soon as possible. There have been extended wait times for passports, up to 3 months. 2. Global Entry Program: To skip the long lines at airport security and customs, you might want to consider applying for the "Global Entry Program." It costs $100 and is good for 5 years. But start the process as soon as possible since the wait time for application approval also takes several months.
