How We Met

Our love story began in Bloomington, IN

We were introduced through two mutual friends during our freshman year of college at Indiana University in 2008. Our Indiana-born friends figured that we, as two Jewish East Coasters among a campus of Midwesterners, might hit it off. They were right. We began dating seriously in 2009, during the fall of our sophomore year. Caroline remembers coming home to Massachusetts for Thanksgiving that November and telling her parents, “I think I have a boyfriend! You can tell the grandparents that he's a Jewish business major from Westchester.” What followed was a very special college experience together. Football season tailgates, late-night Mother Bear's pizza deliveries, too many road trips to count, spring break in Memphis and Nashville, a semester abroad together in Barcelona, and many late nights at the bars on Kirkwood Ave. Then, in 2013, like most great love stories, we hit a bump in the road. Caroline's move to NYC following graduation and Aaron's move to Pittsburgh not long after was the catalyst for a break up that lasted about 6 years. It wasn't until 2018, after Aaron had moved to NYC after a long stint in Pittsburgh, and Caroline returned to NYC after a couple years in San Francisco, that we decided to see if there were still sparks. Eventually, we both felt clear: there were still sparks indeed. Since then, it's been a whirlwind filled with love and joy... and a pandemic. We decided waiting eleven years was long enough, so we married in a small COVID-safe ceremony with immediate family on June 12, 2021. We can't wait to renew our vows and celebrate with you in 2022!
