Chelsea: It was a true millennial love story. It started with a sunset stroll along the beach...just kidding! I stalked Zack on Facebook, ha! Although we were both from the same hometown, I had never met Zack in high school. After finishing grad school, I found myself watching his posts for well over a year and struck up a conversation with him online. Although we were in separate cities, Zack agreed to drive from Boston to NYC for a first date. Except this wasn't a normal first date - it was a camping weekend with my NY friends. Brutal, I know, but I had to see if he would sink or swim...From the moment we met, something beautiful sparked and we spent every weekend after traveling to see each other. My sister in law called it after the first weekend: I had found my better half. Zack: Here we go again, doing something I'm not entirely sure I would do on a normal Saturday. If it's not writing a "how it all started" on a public site, maybe it's driving 4.5 hours to go camping with someone I have never met or move in with that said someone six months later, to one of the largest cities on earth. You get the gist. However, what you don't know is the why but if you are with us on September 12, 2021 you just might find that out. To be continued...
Chelsea's family was in town to celebrate her Mom's birthday. As the Cannons traditionally do, everyone gathered around the bonfire lakeside to watch the northern Michigan sunset. Colby (our Labrador Retriever) came bounding through the lawn with a "Will You Marry My Dad" bandana. Zack got on one knee with a beautiful speech and Chelsea didn't hear a thing because she cried the whole time.
