We're getting married!

We met in 2017 while attending Sam Houston State University for our undergraduate degrees. Just two college students trying to graduate. It was February 2017 and I had just returned back to school after having back surgery. I was ordered to wear this huge, ugly back brace for a while. Around that time, my sorority was selling t-shirts. I had never met Patrick before and out of nowhere he slid into my DMs to buy a shirt. We met in person, exchanged the shirt and money and went about our day. Shortly after I got a snapchat message from him saying "So how's your day".. I'm thinking... what the heck.. okayyyyyyy. Fast forward a couple weeks of chit chatting through social media... I met at the apartment shuttle stop for my 8 am (pat lived at the same complex)... As I approach I see pat, make eye contact (noticed I'm wearing this hideous back brace and look a HOT mess because it is so early), turn back around and Patrick does not speak... at all. It was in that moment I knew for sure my back brace and messy hair scared him away forever. Apparently this was his plan all along...because I had to messege him like HELLLLOOOOOO???? I KNOW YOU SAW ME SEE YOU???????? according to him, that was his was of guarenteeing we would talk again... and it worked.... because after realizing that he just ignored me I had to slide back in his DMs hahaha Our first official date was on Valentinues Day in 2017.... food and margaritas are the way to my heart and he did just that.... and the rest is history. It was the little things he did, the conversations we had, and everything we shared in common that had me falling head over heels for him. It was and still is the way he can light up an entire room with his humor. Our love grew so fast and I didn’t mind at all. Every day, from the moment we met, has been my favorite fairy tale. I am beyond ready to marry the man of my dreams!

It was Friday, December 08, 2017 and I was graduating with my bachelor's degree from SHSU. After the commencement ceremony all of our friends and family surrounded my sorority sisters and I as we did our chant. Before I could blink, I was at the center of a huge awkward circle. When I turned around I saw Patrick there on one knee asking for my hand in marriage. (Yes after just 10 short months of meeting) I was SO shocked and tongue-tied and remember saying “omg what do I say” like HELLLOO KRISTEN. YOU SCREAM YES, ON THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS...... and after a few minutes of trying to get myself together i said YES.... with so much love, excitement, and emotion.
