In 2016, Mike and Michelle started law school at Northeastern University. Placed in the same first-year lecture section, they would occasionally chat after class over beers but really got to know each other when they impersonated their professors in a skit which they performed for the school. They bonded over a shared love of performing arts and law school trauma in a late night of bar hopping that started at Uno's Pizzeria in Boston. They took their first trip together to Columbia, South Carolina to observe a solar eclipse. Michelle got the sense Mike might be a keeper when he blew out one of his flip-flops in 100+ degree weather two miles from where they parked and was able to laugh it off. The couple moved to Cape Cod after law school, living together for the first time. Barely six months later COVID hit and the lockdowns brought new challenges for them to navigate together. They spent many hours playing cards, Nintendo 64, and board games, never getting sick of each other! It was around this time Mike and Michelle realized how much their bond had grown, affirming that moving in together was the right choice. As restrictions lifted they started traveling together again, most recently visiting Ireland, exploring Dublin, Galway, and the Aran Isles. They have made their way to Chicago, Denver and Curaçao, and hope to make travel an important part of their lives. For their five-year dating anniversary, Mike took Michelle on a sunset stroll on the beach near their home and asked her to marry him. She said yes!
