Enjoy local shops, tasty food, and a beautiful view of the Beaufort Channel in this seaside town. If time permits and the weather is agreeable, take a ferry over to one of the nearby islands. Fun fact: One of our favorite lunch spots in the area is Beaufort Grocery Co.
Snack at the Birthplace of Pepsi Cola
Grab a bag of popcorn and a classic Pepsi while perusing this gem of a shop. Feel free to grab a souvenir while you’re here.
Play at Christ Church
Bring the kids to this park located on church premises. On a nice day, you’ll find a bustling playground with many happy littles. Its convenient location is near restaurants, shops, and historical sites.
Explore at Carolina Home & Garden
This boutique garden center features an arcade, mini adventure park, and cafe lobby. Spend time admiring some of the animals on the premises such as their alpacas, pheasants, chickens, goats, and pigs.
Create at The Accidental Artist
Pick a ceramic item and paint freely! This spot is great for beginners and experienced artists alike. Set aside at least an hour if you plan to go — it’s easy to lose track of time when you’re wrist deep in pottery glazing.
Learn a Skill at Beary The Hatchet Axe Throwing Co.
Not your run-of-the-mill barcade. If you decide to take a swing at axe throwing, be prepared for a challenge. The drinks are pretty good too.
Relax on Shackleford Banks Island Express Ferry
Take a ferry ride from the Beaufort pier over to Shackleford, home to a rare herd of wild horses. On your way there, keep your eyes peeled for dolphins — they are known to make an appearance to say “hi” to passerby.
