Caroline Priester

Maid of Honor

Caroline (or as her family calls her, Carrie) is, aside from being the bride’s beloved little sister, a brilliant second year medical student at Wake Forest, connoisseur of baked goods (the underbaked the better), and highly regarded source on skincare products - If you need a good brownie recipe or a sunscreen rec, this is your girl!

Steven Zimmerman

Best Man

Steven & William have known each other since 7th grade. While good friends throughout middle and high school, William and Steven’s friendship thrived after graduating college. Northern California based, Steven has a love for all things tech and the occasional festival. Steven enjoys spending his free time killing noobs on Call of Duty Warzone or eating Soup Dumplings.

Nicholas Melvin

Officiant

Nicholas Melvin attended Northeastern with the bride, where they first bonded over Katie's inability to complete a round of the game dizzy bat (beer is involved) without minor injury. Nick has been a beloved friend to both the bride and groom for several years and, with his signature sense of humor, was the clear choice to officiate. When not hard at work at Apple, Nick enjoys staying active spending his free time playing hockey, practicing martial arts, and breaking hearts all over San Francisco.

Katie Kennicott

Open Seat in Memory of

I met Katie Kennicott in the spring of 2011. I had just finished my first year at UIC having spent most of the typical student breaks training on campus. I was homesick and in desperate need of a home cooked meal. I was subsequently introduced to the Kennicotts. The Kennicotts, Red & Katie, were local to Chicago and living just a short distance from campus. Top tier Michigan State fans and even more generous people. The Kennicotts graciously invited me to their home in hopes that they could be a family I would spend some time with in the absence of getting to go home for Summer vacations. One dinner turned into multiple & evolved into countless hours with Red & Katie’s family. Before long Katie became Grandma Katie, their children Laura, Sarah, Steve, David grew from strangers to family in every way but blood. in the Summer of 2023, months before my engagement, I was fortunate enough to introduce Katie K to Katie P. Not yet engaged, our talks still consisted of “I can’t wait for your wedding & She’s so lovely you better marry this one”. I struggled for a while having to clearly declare which Katie I was referring to “I’d say I meant MY Katie or I mean Grandma Katie”. It wasn’t till leaving I came to the realization they were both MY Katie, the two great loves of my life. I miss her with every passing day but I know she’s here with us today. To the Kennicott‘s Thank you for sharing her with us, her loving spirit is clearly reflected in you all. You will always be family.
