The dress code for our wedding is formal, black-tie optional. Ladies should wear a long dress, cocktail dress, or fancy separates. Gentlemen should wear a dark suit or tuxedo if preferred. The atmosphere would be best described as a romantic winter wedding. Colors that would match best include black, forest green, plum, and burgundy. Please do not wear white.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can come celebrate with us!
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no" so we can plan accordingly.
Our Wisconsin guests know how unpredictable the weather can be this time of year. Bring a coat and be prepared for snow. But also don't be surprised if it is fifty degrees and sunny...
We have rooms blocked at several local hotels that can be accessed from the lodging page here on our website. Feel free to look into an Airbnb or VRBO in the area as well if you are interested. There are some nice ones within a couple miles of the venue!
Due to our particular lifestyle full of travel and adventure, cash gifts are the most useful to us at this point in our lives together. You are able to contribute the amount you wish to any of the options located here on the registry page of our website.
Our venue is beautifully placed in the hills of Viola, WI and stands alone at 12815 River Drive. Your smartphone or GPS will take you right to where you need to be. The route from most of our hotels will take you through the town of Viola on Commercial Street, to Main Street, to the gravel road that is River Drive.
We recommend that you arrive thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
The venue provides on-site parking. There are gravel parking areas on the grounds and five handicap parking spots closest to the entrance.
Safety is our number one priority. Guests can leave a vehicle overnight which must be picked up by Sunday at noon.
Both our ceremony and reception will be held at the same venue, Chapters on the Horizon in Viola, WI.
We ask that our guests refrain from taking photos and using their cell phones during our ceremony. Afterwards however, we encourage our guests to post pictures on social media. Our only request is that you tag Theo or Jess in your posts so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
After the ceremony, the Bride and Groom will be taking photos nearby. Guests will remain in the event hall where beverages will be served at the bar while you wait for the Grand March to begin shortly.
Beer and wine will be hosted by the lovely families of the Bride and Groom. Cocktails will be available for purchase. Chapters on the Horizon accepts cash or credit card. A 4% fee and 18% gratuity will be added to all bar tabs that pay with credit card. There is also an ATM on site.
Dinner will be buffet style featuring the American home cooking of JoEllen Zitzner. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions you may require.
Chapters on the Horizon is a non-smoking venue but there are designated smoking areas outside of the facility. They just ask that everyone be respectful and dispose of cigarette/cigar butts in receptacles provided.
