Citadelle de Namur
The Citadel of Namur is a fortress in the Walloon capital city of Namur, at the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers. It is originally from the Roman era, but has been rebuilt several times.
Maredsous Abbey
Maredsous Abbey is one of Theo's favorite places to go when visiting home. Located about 30 minutes from Namur and founded in 1872 by Benedictine monks, Maredsous Abbey is characteristic of a neo-Gothic architectural style which harmonizes perfectly with the wooded and hilly nature of the region. The Abbey is now known as an amazing brewery that produces delicious Maredsous beer and cheeses. Their beers ripen in caves for two months before being sold and they blend perfectly with Maredsous cheese.
Brussels
Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is located approximately 55 minutes from Namur. It's a city bursting at the seams with life and diverse culture. You'll find something for everyone in Brussels and you'll never get bored. Even if you only plan on visiting for a day, there are plenty of things that you can fit in. La Grand Place is the central square of Brussels, Belgium and proves to be an architectural jewel filled with great restaurants, stores, and cafes.
Bruges
Known as the "Venice of Belgium", Bruges is straight out of a storybook. Cozy bars and quayside breweries pour Belgian beer for tourists and locals. Scenic waterways and cobblestone streets give way to restaurants that offer visitors a taste of the local cuisine.
