On May 1, 2019, Kristine moved into her first NYC apartment on the Upper East Side. Coincidentally, that apartment was directly across the street from her very good friend Megan Castillo (Palasek) and Shawn's best man, Randy Castillo. The first night she moved in, Megan and Randy invited her over to watch Game of Thrones. At that watch party she met Shawn. One month later and a few drinks at Five Mile Stone, the rest is history!

Back in 2020 was the first trip Shawn and Kristine took to her parents house in the Outer Banks. The Outer Banks holds a very special place in Kristine's heart and Shawn quickly understood why on their visit. The moment he saw the sound side dock off of their house, he knew he was going to propose there. Three years later, on vacation with Kristine's family, Shawn got down on one knee in front of everyone during sunset. Making her favorite place on earth even more special.
