Rory and Erin met by chance when Rory invited Kait Hammerton (bridesmaid) to come out with him and some friends to a bar in Morristown. He told Kait to feel free to bring friend, so she invited Erin along for the ride. Erin accompanied Kait to Motown with no thought that she’d be meeting her future husband that night. When Erin and Kait arrived, Rory was waiting outside his apartment. He watched Erin’s attempt at parallel parking, telling her, "Wow that was painful to watch.” Erin and Kait had a blast that night meeting Rory’s friends and then heading to Morristown’s Sona Thirteen for some drinks. But without a doubt, the best part of that night was when Rory kissed Erin on the dance floor. Later that night, Rory asked Erin for her number. A week later, he took Erin on their first date to The Office in Morristown. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Rory planned an epic proposal weekend in New Hope, PA, asking for Erin’s hand in marriage at George Washington's Crossing. (Of course, she said yes!) Erin thought things couldn’t get any better, but the next morning she and Rory were surprised by family at Sneddon's—a favorite lunch spot in Lambertville, NJ that Erin frequented with her mom, grandma, and sister growing up. And the surprises didn’t stop there. Later that night, about 50 friends greeted Erin and Rory at Triumph Brewery. She and Rory were touched that so many dear friends had journeyed from all over the country to be part of such a momentous event in their lives. It was a magical, unforgettable weekend full of love and celebration. The perfect proposal did NOT go off without a hitch, though. Rory nearly had several heart attacks (and may have gained a few grey hairs) with the stress of Erin breaking her foot two months before the proposal, her grandfather accidentally spilling the beans that Rory had asked his permission to get engaged, and Erin’s repeated interrogations about the random New Hope getaway he had planned. Erin wasn’t the easiest to propose to, but the end result was more than worth it!
