We were nearly on the same flight to the States when Nicholas flew in to work for PWC in Baltimore and Nikki returned home from Kenya early. We couldn't avoid fate as only two weeks later we met at Max's Taphouse in Baltimore, where Nikki told Nicholas it was only 30 minutes from where she lived (NOT the case at all). We talked for hours and ultimately closed down the bar before making plans to meet again. A second date turned into a third date which soon turned into moving to NYC together with Lady Pudding.

The day after eating our fill of turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing on Thanksgiving, Nicholas decided we should go for a hike and a detox. We approached the top of the hill with confusion and no clear direction to the overlook. After 15 minutes of searching for the path, we found it and Nikki sat down to take a look from the top. Instead of a view of the Hudson Valley below, there was Nicholas with an engagement ring. After a few moments of stuttering in disbelief, there was an enthusiastic yes!
