Brooke and Michael both attended Pepperdine University. Brooke played soccer and Michael played baseball. It would've been the perfect love story: a baseball player falls in love with a soccer player... they enjoy their time together cheering each other on at their games until they both hang up the cleats and begin their grown up lives together. Except, that's not how this story goes! Instead, Brooke and Michael bumped into each other here and there throughout their time in Malibu. Michael even found a video where his friend is giving a speech, and Brooke's voice can be heard firing back at the friend. But, alas, Michael was too busy playing Fortnite and socializing while Brooke was too busy following (and enforcing) the many rules of Pepperdine Soccer. Flash forward to 2020. Covid hits. Michael says he's done with baseball. Brooke moves home and decides she can finish up her last semester of her teaching program from the comfort of her bedroom at her parent's house on Zoom. Meanwhile, something tells Michael he is not yet done with baseball, and he decides to make history and stay on for a 6th year while he finishes his masters program and Brooke decides that she is going to fight for housing on campus at Pepperdine so her and Alison, her BFF, can live together in Malibu and finish earning their credentials. Through mutual friends on the baseball and soccer teams, Michael hears Brooke is on the market. We all know Michael had been waiting and pining for this to happen, so he quickly adds Brooke on Snapchat (eww) and the rest is history! Brooke and Michael have been in love and by each other's side ever since, and Michael finally got the courage to pop the most important question to Brooke. He surprised her on a cliff in the Palisades, got down on one knee, and said, "Brooke, will you be my girlfriend?" And just like that, after over 2 years, they were finally dating. But this was short lived, as mere seconds later, Brooke responded, "Well duh! But don't you have something else to ask me???" And here we are. We can't wait to celebrate with you all.
