I saw Nathan in the hallways of our high school. I didn’t know his name or who he was. All I knew was that I HAD to know him. It was like I immediately knew he was the man I was going to spend my life with. He had a girlfriend at the time, but I was hopeful that when the time was right, we would be together. After a few months, we were both single and I mustered up enough courage to talk to him. Then I told him to take my phone number. He finally asked me on a date, and I had the funnest time. I knew he was the man I wanted to marry. Took lots of ups and downs, 9 years of growing up, and 2 beautiful babies for him to pop the question.
We we’re getting our maternity pictures done for our second child together. Earlier that day, Nathan was acting very unusual, I was scared he was being unfaithful. I was so pregnant and moody. I was talking to my mom about it, and she talked me down. When we were about done with our pictures; Our photographer Sara said she wanted to try a pose. She called it the “sneak up attack”! She told me to face away from Nate so that he could run up from behind me to give me a big hug. I was waiting when she said the lighting was all wrong and to just face Nathan. I was confused for a moment, but when I turned around... the love of my life was there on one knee. I was a crying happy mess, and of course said, “yes!”.
