While they both have different ideas of when it started, they can both agree that Anthony noticed Katie first. Anthony swears that they locked eyes in the John Carroll cafeteria freshman year and had a moment, while Katie remembers first hearing a rumor Anthony thought she was cute. Anthony acted shy but Katie persisted that they should hang out with games of catch and the card game spoons. Weeks later, while packing up their dorms for the year, Anthony gave Katie a handwritten letter saying that he hoped she would still think of him fondly over the summer. The rest was history!

Anthony and Katie were off to Europe with Anthony's parents for a 12 day trip to Nice and the Amalfi Coast. Anthony had insisted on planning a day together on Saturday in Nice, immediately raising Katie's suspicion as the usual travel planner of the duo. Anthony told Katie they would be heading to Colline du Château to look over the city and to wear something "nice". After a broken elevator and walking up the 300+ steps in the heat, Anthony dropped to one knee and was speechless. Luckily Katie was able to read his mind and said yes! Immediately after, they were off to pictures in Old Nice and out for a night of celebrations. The pictures are sweaty and full of laughs but it was the most memorable day!
