The couple requests all guests dress appropriately. In fact, you are encourage to dress to impress! Ideally, the couple would like everyone to dress in dark colors, utilizing contrasts with bold colors (i.e.: Black suit with a Bright Red / Royal Purple / Bright Blue / Neon Yellow Shirt or an Emerald Green Suit with a black shirt, etc.) It is a wedding, not asking for anything crazy, however, the main thing we are asking is that NO ONE WEAR ANY WHITE! - dress shirts included

When we were planning our first vacation together it was a process trying to decide where to go. We wanted a new place, special to us, so after about 2 weeks of shooting down each other's ideas for one reason or another we landed on Vancouver. While planning travel arrangements Seattle worked its way into our trip. We saw that it was not only cheaper to fly into Seattle, rent a car, then drive to Vancouver; but it also gave us the opportunity to see 2 cities. We got an Airbnb in Seattle, spent 4 days there before taking the most stunningly, scenic drive to Vancouver. Were we spent the remainder of our vacation before driving back to Seattle for our flight. We fell in love with the PNW almost instantly; the Light Rail ride from the airport to Seattle was so picturesque, the Airbnb we had in Chinatown was really nice, we could see the water, and while the area was a little sketchy at night the restaurants are so f*****g good. There was a day where Chris and I both said 'should we even go to Vancouver or spend the rest of our vacation here?' Well, we did end up going to Vancouver mostly because our Airbnb was booked right after us so we couldn't extend... since then we have been back to Seattle at-least once every year, usually to celebrate a special occasion. The reason we are getting married in Bellingham and not actually Seattle is because we didn't find a venue within the city that was loved, but also because it is between Seattle and Vancouver; the 2 cities from that first trip we took together. We love Chicago, but lately we have been yearning for a change. So, the other reason we are getting married in the PNW and not somewhere tropical is because our goal is to move to Seattle. We are planning to continue saving for the next 3 or 4 years, the year following that we will move to an apartment in Seattle, living there while we search for our first home to purchase.
After a debate between either taking a trip through Asia or a trip through Europe; Josh pulling for Asia, Chris for Europe. We compromised, deciding to honeymoon in Europe and spending our first anniversary on a trip to Japan! As it stands, the plan is to kick off the trip in Paris with a romantic day in one of the most romantic cities. The next afternoon we will take a train to Avignon where we will board a Viking River Cruise to enjoy a relaxing and stunning 2 week cruise through France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, ending in The Netherlands. After a lovely trip through the country we don't plan to let our trip end there. Instead, we plan to take a train or boat to Chris' favorite city in the world, London. Spending a week with Chris as a giddy tour guide; Josh is looking forward to having his husband show him all the best spots around the city. If you were planning to, we are asking you donate to our honeymoon fund instead of trying to surprise us with something along our trip. Being honest with ourselves we don't really every stick to an itinerary on vacations, in fact on vacations we are usually lazy bums. If he could, Chris would be on a beach with a joint and a drink all day, every day, every vacation. Josh is more the ADHD hyperactive rabbit that wants to do a million things but gets tired after 3 then naps the rest of the day. So, if you try to surprise us with something we may sleep through it; there will also be days at a time we don't leave our room... ;)
(Told from Josh's perspective) Back a decade ago I was living in a studio on Diversey Ave. & Broadway, I wanted to start going to the gym again. I started with the one around the corner from my studio; however, it was super bro-y which made me self-conscious so I decided to switch to the Lakeview Athletic Club, the many half naked gay men really sealed the deal at the time. It was a random, late afternoon workout session that I met who I thought was the most annoy gym member ever! While great minds think alike, because we were both doing leg day that day, I was about to wrap up my work out with 3 sets on the incline leg press and a jog. I finished my lunges and squats, time to finish it up, I headed toward the leg press machine; low-and-behold, who do I see 'using' it? You guessed it, Chris, sitting there and at the time I assumed resting between sets. I was wrong, I went and did another 4 sets of squats to kill like 10 mins, meandered back over to check and he was still there; just reading his kindle sitting on the seat of the machine. I did something I regret to this day, because to this day, he will do it to me when he wants to get my attention. I got close enough that he could see just my feet and legs while reading his device, extended my leg forward a bit and tapped my foot 3 times in rapid succession, twice. I asked him 'are you finished, or can I work in?' in that snooty librarian tone. After that we spent a few weeks in a passive aggressive flirtation at the gym and on Grindr
