This is a great little walking path that will take you through our little town. The entrance to the trail is about 1/4 mile from the hotel, so it's just a quick walk over. The whole trail is only 1.8 miles long. There are plenty of fun little places to stop along the way. One of our favorites is Sessions Coffee Stand, which has both hot and cold beverages and is a great little resting point if walking the trail. It's not easy to find by car, but if walking the trail, you'll automatically stumble upon it. The address is 380 Sessions Street NW, Marietta, 30060.
For our outdoorsy and fitness buff friends, Kennesaw Mountain is just a couple miles away and makes for a great hike. There are a couple options: you can actually hike up the mountain or you can walk up the paved road. Either way, don't forget to bring water! For those that don't want to do the hike, but would like amazing views of downtown Atlanta and our surrounding area, you can drive to the top. Parking is $5 per day.
10/10 - definitely recommend! This is also along the Mountain to River Trail, but if not visiting via the trail, it's another quick walk or about a 2 minute drive from the hotel. Great food and lots to satisfy the sweet tooth.
We love this place! There is something to satisfy everyone's tastebuds here. It's a hip food hall with a variety of walk-up restaurants to choose from. Brian's favorite is Shai Karr Eatery (Thai), Carey's favorite is Ponko Chicken (best chicken tenders ever!), Noah's favorite is Momosan Ramen (go for the Bao Buns!), Max's favorite is Pita (Mediterranean), and Brandon's favorite is Bull Gogi (build-your-own Korean/Poke Bowls). These are our favorites, but there are LOTS more wonderful selections. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating.
Local brewery with bar food located right on the Marietta Square. The Marietta Square does not have an open container law, so you can grab a beer here and walk around and window shop or decide where your next stop will be.
Far East and South of the Border Fusion. Great menu! We recommend the avocado eggrolls, the tacos, and the Asian nachos made with wontons. Oh, and the Sake Sangria.
This is the park in the center of the Marietta Square. Great place to find a seat and just relax in the shade. There is often live music being played in the square and sometimes on Saturday mornings, there is a farmer's market. For those that have seen the "gem" of a movie, Dumb and Dumberer, there was a scene filmed here...our claim to fame!
Not to be confused with the actual "park," Glover Park Brewery is exactly that...a brewery. This has a great atmosphere and indoor/outdoor seating as well as lots of board games, cornhole, etc. There are sometimes food trucks here. Lots of fun. Caddy-cornered to our reception venue.
Free concert in the Marietta Square beginning at 8:00 pm. Concert is free, but there is an option to make a table reservation for a fee. Lineup TBD
One of our favorites! Our go-to dishes are the traditional Cuban and the tostones especiales. Yum!
