The park where Steve proposed, and the site of our wedding venue Aspen Hall, Shevlin holds a special place in our hearts. Beautiful area with easy hiking trails, mountain views, and Tumalo Creek.
Drake Park and Mirror Pond are close to downtown and a peaceful walk by the river, close to downtown.
Bella's favorite park! Great spot to hang out, walk along the river trail and check out the Old Mill District. If you want to paddleboard or kayak, this is your spot. Check out https://tumalocreek.com/rentals/ for all your gear needs.
A quick trip out of town and you're at the base of this incredible waterfall. Choose your own adventure: a short walk from the parking lot gives you great views of the falls, or you can take an easy 2-mile round-trip hike past the top of Tumalo Falls en route to Double Falls.
Take a short drive west and you'll feel miles away. You're less than 30 minutes from Mt. Bachelor, Todd Lake, Sparks Lake, Devils Lake, & Elk Lake. These are a few of our favorite spots to hike, picnic, paddleboard, and take in the trees, mountains, and lakes of Bend.
One of the 7 wonders of Oregon! Enjoy epic views from easy trails near the parking lot, or challenge yourself up the Misery Ridge trail. A challenging workout that lives up to its name, but the views make it worth the trek.
A fun mix of bars, wineries, restaurants and food trucks, the Box Factory has something for everyone and is a close walk to the river and Old Mill (no sign of any boxes, though).
Home of Steve's favoite Bend beer: Rippin Pale Ale. Great food & good vibes. Bonus - Located next to 10 Barrel Brewery & Boss Rambler.
The best mountain views of any brewery in Bend. Tons of outdoor space and a great spot for a sunset beer.
Great brewery with a large outdoor area right on the river in the heart of downtown.
Tasty tacos ✔️ Delicious margaritas ✔️ Chips & guac ✔️ Need we say more? (PS - this is the first place Steve took Meredith when we moved here).
4 pubs, movie theater, hotel, Turkish bath, cigar lounge, fire pits, and a hidden bar... It's easy to get lost at this renovated historic schoolhouse, but there's something fun around every corner. Grab a drink, explore the grounds, and try to find the mysterious Broom Closet Bar.
Our favorite breakfast spot, hands down. There are no reservations, so expect a wait, grab a spot by the fire pit, and enjoy a bloody mary or irish coffee on the patio.
If you've visited us, we've probably taken you to get an ocean roll. A Bend staple, you can grab one at Sparrow Bakery and most coffee shops in Bend. Ocean rolls sell out fast, but the bacon croissant sandwich is another crowd favorite.
Built in 1936, the Pine Tavern is not only one of Bend Oregon's best restaurants but also a tradition for locals and tourists alike. Great happy hour in the cozy bar, and also an excellent spot for lunch or dinner with a patio overlooking the river.
