This is highly debated, as he knew her WELL before she knew him. Through multiple coincidences, we ended up at the same 4th of July Party. The party led to a concert the weekend after, where they hit it off. Even still, she told him after that this wouldn't go anywhere. We see how that went...
After hanging out with our friends one night, he asked her if he could see her again soon, but this time, just the two of us. This led to our first date, where we sat and talked nonstop for hours that felt like minutes. He took no time to make his thoughts known, and asked her if we could do this again. When she said yes, he said, "I'm dating Emily Bradford." She laughed and nodded, and he followed that up with, "I'm DATING Emily Bradford." She told him to slow his roll, but our roll never slowed. Look at us now.
On the first anniversary of when we started dating, we spent a wonderful day together. While we were at dinner, our first date, of course, entered the conversation. He brought up how he asked her to be his girlfriend, and she was quick to deny that he ever ASKED her, when he really TOLD her. As we were laughing, an idea popped in his head. As we got back to the car to head home after dinner, he opened the car door for her, as he always does. He closed the door, and began walking to the driver side, but stopped in his tracks. He reopened her door, and kissed her on the forehead. He said, "I know I never asked you to be my girlfriend, so can I have another shot?" She, of course, said yes. He got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket, and said, "will you be my wife?" She said yes.
