Together is a beautiful place to be

We met at our community's Valentine's Day party after being set up to meet there by a coworker. We talked most of the night. When the party ended Jon walked me to my car and asked for my phone number. I usually would just take the number and never call but I knew there was something different about him, so I gave him my number. He called.....and the rest is history!

Jon would normally insist on planning our anniversary but since our anniversary happened to fall on Father's day weekend I planned to take him to Tampa to celebrate. We had a rough day of travel, just about everything that could go wrong did! We got into Tampa and checked into the hotel. Went to visit Jon's uncle Mike. He had a couple friends over for game night so we stayed for the fun. At about midnight Uncle Mike started a toast (nothing out of the ordinary as we are always toasting to living a good life!) So I thought nothing much of it. As Mike wrapped up, I heard Jon's voice and as I turned to my right he was already on one knee. "8 years ago I asked you to be my girlfriend, now I'm saying I want to do this for the rest of my life with you." I was shocked! The ring was out and sparkling! He put it on my finger and I said "I didn't hear you ask the question (people were cheering) but YES!
