Q & A

The Wedding Website of Sarah Hymer and Joseph Durst
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We request resort/beach formal. This consists of flowy dresses, linen slacks, pastel hues and floral prints. Please avoid bright, neon colors or black. Our wedding color is light blue. We recommend sticking to fabrics like linen and avoid any thick, non-breathable fabrics that you might be too warm in for sunny beach weather. Please avoid dresses in colors reserved for the bride (white, ivory, cream) and jeans, denim, shorts.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we adore children, the resort cannot accommodate your little ones. Starting January 2024, Paradisus is strictly 18+. We hope you can make arrangements and come celebrate with us at our adults only event.

Question

Is the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception outside?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at the Ocean Terrace, overlooking the ocean. In June, the temperatures in Cabo average 80-90 degrees during the day, so please dress comfortably. At night it cools down to the 60s-70s. The cocktail hour/reception will be outside but will have a cover, the ocean creates a lovely breeze most evenings.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to the size of our guest list and the resort, we cannot accommodate extra people at the wedding. We only have spaces for the guests listed on your invitation.

Question

When should I book my trip?

Answer

We recommend you book your trip as soon as possible. Please contact our travel agent, Cari Hicks (at no cost to you) at 832-722-8069.

Question

Have you reserved room blocks?

Answer

Yes! We would love and appreciate if you reserve your room through our room block as we have worked hard to secure rooms at a great rate for all of our guests. We would love to have a better idea of who all is coming as soon as possible, April 1, 2024.

Question

What is the best way to get from the airport to the resort?

Answer

You will have the option to add transfers from the SJD Airport to the resort and back to your reservation. You will just need to send your flight information to our travel agent, Cari Hicks, once your flights are booked. Uber is also available if you would rather wait for an uber when you arrive.

Question

Can 2 couples stay in 1 room?

Answer

No, max capacity per room is 3 people per the resort's policy. It is an all inclusive resort, so the cost is reflective of a per person per night basis.
