We went to the same High School in Gwinnett, County (Go Eagles!). We were distant friends, and had a lot of mutual friends, but never really thought about dating. Tyler was busy playing tennis, Lauren busy with soccer and lacrosse, and both having extremely taxing social lives. Eventually, in college, way back in 2013, we reconnected through mutual friends. We met up one night in downtown Athens for a football game (Go Dawgs!), and the rest is history. We spent the first year of our relationship being long distance. Lauren in Athens, GA and Tyler in Statesboro, GA. Eventually, Lauren made her way down to Statesboro, GA for school (Go Eagles!...again). We are so excited to be taking our relationship full circle and tying the knot back in Athens, GA!!
After a long seven-ish years passed (who was even really counting), Tyler decided to (finally) pop the question. Tyler and Lauren were going to their friends’ Curtis and Kelsey’s new house to celebrate New Year’s Eve! Everyone was so excited to put 2020 behind us, and during this small, intimate, party, Tyler was going to ask Lauren to be his wife! It was a rainy night, and the attendants at the party who knew the question was coming, were very adamant about checking the weather to make sure no rain was on the way. Around 11:30pm, we took the party outside to light sparklers. Tyler and Lauren took some photos with their sparklers upon Lauren’s request. To Lauren’s ultimate shock and surprise, Tyler leaned over, asked Lauren to hold his sparkler, and got down on one knee. Best New Year’s Eve of our lives!
