How We Met

07.04.18

The two were both out with best friends in Austin when they crossed paths for the first time. Morgan was immediately drawn towards Bryan's chill demeanor (and maybe the resemblance to Bradley Cooper). Off the bat, Bryan recognized that Morgan was caring, independent, and really fun. They spent that day bar hopping, flirting, and ended it watching fireworks. Bryan quickly followed up the next day and to ask Morgan out on their first date. Over margaritas and tacos, they got to know each other. They talked about their families, life goals, and a slightly exaggerated mutual love for running (a few months later Morgan tricked Bryan in to running a half marathon with her). They ended the night at The White Horse listening to live music and dancing. They agree that they knew quickly that they were soulmates. The rest is history.

The Proposal

01.01.21

Morgan & Bryan were on a trip to Palo Duro Canyon to ring in the New Year. Little did Morgan know Bryan’s agenda. Like all good stories, this one started chaotically. On the drive in, they were caught in a snowstorm (in Texas!) that added several hours to their trip. Morgan had a borderline paranormal experience at their very creepy Airbnb while Bryan was sleeping peacefully. Sleep deprived, Morgan woke Bryan up bright and early the next morning to let him know that she would like to leave and never come back their cursed Airbnb. Despite an unideal start to their trip, they headed out to Palo Duro Canyon State Park to hike to the light house as planned. Bryan had the engagement ring tucked away in his pocket ready to propose in spite of the rough start. He is nothing if not committed. As they started the long hike, the sun rose in the mountains and the beauty of west Texas was on full display. Bryan grew increasingly nervous as they climbed. Once they were at the peak of the hike, Bryan dropped down on one knee and proposed to Morgan with her grandmother’s ring. It was an immediate yes. Morgan was surprised and overwhelmed at how perfect the moment ended up being. They celebrated in the great city of Lubbock that night and drove home excited about the future.
