We were gambling for sure, meeting online. Who actually finds love on these apps, anyway? On Sunday, March 8th, 2020 we planned to meet up for a motorcycle ride on an unexpected 70+ degree day. Riding through the back roads of Minooka, Taylor hoping she wasn't being kidnapped by this handsome man, they stopped at Lake Chaminwood in Minooka and took a walk around the lake, talking and getting to know one another. Taylor remembers a breathtaking view with a charming guy, and Jon remembers thinking Taylor was quiet (okay), and she had lipstick on her teeth - Classic. Afterwards, they returned safely off the bike and spent the evening chatting and enjoying a TV program they both enjoyed. After a few more get togethers, we were both hopeful this would turn into something memorable, and we are thankful every day it did!
Jon surprised Taylor with a spontaneous trip to the original lake spot on January 12, 2024, where the first date was in March of 2020. It was snowing, and chilly, but we were determined to make it to our favorite bridge. When we made it to the bridge, Jon got down on one knee in the soaking wet snow and asked Taylor to marry him. It was beautiful, private, and a very happy moment for both of us!
We could not have made it this far in life or in love without the support of our family and friends. We look forward to having everyone we love in one room, rounding out a beautiful evening with drinks and dancing. Cheers!
