We met online as most couples do these days, but our story is one for the books. Morgan had a terrible two weeks before our first date. Her grandmother had suffered a major heart attack and a week later, her mother suffered from an even more severe heart attack. Morgan was beyond stressed and just needed to grab a drink. She decided to message James online. Two minutes later James had responded asking Morgan if she wanted to grab a drink, it was like he could read her mind. Little did either of us know, it would be our last first date. We met at Gordon Street Pub in Alvin, TX on 7/2/24 at 6pm. We talked for hours about anything and everything. It truly felt like we had known each other for years. No awkward pauses, no small talk. After the bar closed, we weren't ready to stop talking and headed back to Morgan's new home. On the way home, Morgan messaged her cousin saying "Oh boy, I am in so much trouble. He's perfect in every way." We stayed up talking until 2am and have been inseparable since.
We had a trip planned to celebrate Morgan's Mom and Step-dad's Wedding Anniversary (24 impressive years). We spent our first day on the beach, fishing, shopping, and drinking. The second day of the trip we had a family photoshoot on the beach planned. We arrived at Gulf State Park Pavillion around 6:45pm. The photoshoot started just like any other photoshoot, a few poses walking down the beach, a few in front of some sand dunes. Then comes the photos in front of the water. We started taking regular poses, and then the photographer tells James to face Morgan. James got this shit-eating grin on his face and said "Morgan, I love you so much." in a matter of seconds he was down on one knee. Apparently, he had reached out to the photographer on Facebook without anyone's knowledge and told her his plans. Morgan's parents were completely surprised, but no one was more surprised than Morgan. It was by far the easiest decision in our lives. We can't wait to celebrate with you all.
