Who would have thought that some random boy in my apartment would be the one I would marry and be with for the rest of my life. I remember coming home working a 16-hour shift, and I see that my roommate Hannah has these two big ol’ men in the apartment. I said hello and went straight to bed due to having another 16-hour shift the next day. I remember seeing Liz in the apartment, and I’m thinking “ That was awfully rude.” I didn’t pay it no mind and continued doing my thing. Weeks later we interacted more and eventually got to know each other a little more. It went from simple hellos to me solving her relationship issues (therapist stuff of course). Little did I know (or did I?) that what she needed was someone like me to help balance her strong personality. She has a fiery passion for the mental health field, her family, and Charlie Puth. Jalen finally had the guts to ask me out on a date ….or rather an interview in my eyes. He picked me up and took me to El Chaps aka The Grasshopper in Adrian, Michigan. He asked a variety of questions about my life, family, etc. I thought highly of his goals in the mental health field and in life. Despite all the questions, I knew Jalen was someone who was mature and had his life together. I knew at that point, that I could see myself with him. On November 29th, I asked Liz if we wanted to be exclusive and I was not sure what the answer would be. I was relieved when she said yes and We’re officially locked in. Now here we are, with a dog and now to be married. Who would have thought that this is how our love story would evolve.
