Lindy & Mandisa's meeting did not happen by chance! Mandisa's mother, Ms. Harriott, and Lindy's guidance counselor, Mrs. Sharp, orchestrated the whole thing! The couple affectionately calls them the "co-conspirators" and they are both prominent figures in their lives! The couple has known the co-conspirators for most, if not all, of their lives. Lindy met the pair in high school and they quickly became his mentors. Mandisa, of course, has known her mother her entire life and has known and been impacted by Mrs. Sharp since childhood. Before introducing Lindy and Mandisa, Ms. Harriott and Mrs. Sharp formulated "Operation: Lindy & Mandisa" and on February 26, 2022, they set their plan in motion! Mandisa was visiting Jamaica for her uncle's memorial service and Lindy attended the memorial service to visit and support his longtime mentors. As per their plan, Lindy & Mandisa met on the front lawn of Mandisa's family home in Porus, Jamaica after the memorial service. Though a little timid, they had a nice conversation and spent most of the time observing each other. Lindy knew he was interested right away and asked Ms. Harriott for Mandisa's number the very next day. After a little contemplation and deciding to take a chance, Mandisa agreed to share her number. The pair have spoken every day since, spending countless hours exchanging WhatsApp messages, voice calls, and video calls. Thank God WhatsApp is free! They have prayed, read the Bible together, laughed, cried, smiled, shared their innermost thoughts and experiences, fallen asleep on video calls, and more. Mandisa has taken 4 trips to Jamaica since August 2022, with each trip lasting longer than the last. During the course of this time, Lindy & Mandisa's bond, love, and affection have grown tremendously. As God would have it, Lindy proposed on July 11, 2023, in front of many of Mandisa's family members on the same lawn where they met. They look forward to spending their lives together & growing deeper in love!
