We met on Sunday, September 19, 2021 when Ashley was visiting The Bridge Church in Columbia, Tennessee for the first time. Taylor saw her the moment she walked in the door while he was leading worship and the entire time he was scheming how he could go talk to her. Thankfully, he caught her before she walked out the door after services. Although they only talked for maybe 4 minutes, they both were intrigued by one another. That night, Ashley told one of her roommates about Taylor. Meanwhile, Taylor was getting her number from a mutual friend (thanks, Elizabeth). He texted her the next day (his birthday) and they planned their first date at 1819 Coffee for that Friday. Ashley dressed up a little bit... Taylor wore a hoodie and joggers. They talked for almost 2 hours and then set up dates for almost every day that followed, from the Nashville Flea Market, a Songwriter's Night at Travellers Rest, to a Goat Show in Murfreesboro... after which, they kissed on the court house steps and Taylor asked Ashley to be his girlfriend. To his disappointment, she said she'd pray about it... the rest is history ;)
