The first time I saw Marc was at Chabad in college. I was immediately drawn to his kind eyes and warm smile. We talked for hours that night, and I knew that I had met someone special. We didn't exchange phone numbers that night, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. Three months later, I saw him again at a Valentine's Day party hosted by AEPI. As soon as I saw him, my heart skipped a beat. We danced and talked all night long, and this time we made sure to exchange numbers. The next morning, Marc called me and asked me on a date. I said yes without hesitation! We went to Pasta Jay's, one of my family's favorite restaurants from growing up in Boulder. The date was amazing. We talked for hours about everything and really got to know each other. It didn't take long for Marc to ask me to be his girlfriend, and I happily said yes. Eight years later, Marc and I are still going strong. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.
I knew Jill was the one a long time ago. We started living together during our last year of college in 2019. When the pandemic caused the world around us to shut down, neither of us had daily responsibilities like work or school. We spent a lot of time together during that time. Typically that would make people go crazy, but for us it made our relationship even stronger. After college, Jill and I moved to Denver. We had talked about marriage plenty, and I knew we were on the same page. Of course, I started looking at rings online. Before I knew it, my instagram ad feed was all engagement rings. My mom ended up recommending a jeweler in Denver, the same one that made her ring. Once the ring was made, I began planning the proposal. I knew it would be hard for me to keep it a surprise but I tried my best. I made a plan to propose and let the whole family know. The plan was to go on a hike together and have Jill’s brother, Sean, capture the moment with his camera. Jill and I ended up on a hike in Golden and it happened to be the week before I had planned on proposing. It was a really hot day and I didn’t know how I would capture the moment without a photographer, but I brought the ring with me just in case. We reached an amazing viewpoint and sat in shade for enough time for both of us to cool down and fall asleep. When we woke up, we realized no one was around. I asked Jill to take some photos together at the viewpoint, so we propped my phone against some rocks and took timed photos. I decided this was the perfect moment and grabbed the ring from my backpack. In the next photo, I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. I'm so excited to marry Jill, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.
