Our story began in 2020. It was love at first sight. We met working at the New Britain Police Department, supervising inmates as a Matron (Hannah) and Jailer (Albert). It was during the pandemic, so neither of us were scheduled to be working. I was supposed to be in a college class that night and he was supposed to be at the gym working out, but both were closed so we went to work. It was the first time we had worked together. We spent several hours talking about our interests, dreams, life goals, and places we wished to visit. His dream was to move back to California, and my top bucket list item was to visit Alcatraz. At the end of the night, he kissed me. We began to spend all of our time together. We became inseparable. Our phone conversations would last until 6am and the sun would come up before we stopped talking. He used to burn carrots on the stove too because he got too distracted talking to me on the phone. After a few months, he gave me the key to his house and we moved in together. We traveled to New York for my 21st birthday, and began our traveling journey. In the summer of 2021, we packed up our car and drove across the country for a month long trip. It was the best experience of our lives. Other than meeting each other, of course :) We visited Alcatraz and stayed with my Auntie Linda, who I had wanted to visit for my whole life. We have been on so many adventures together like spending NYE watching fireworks in an outdoor hot tub and visiting Breaking Bad & Stranger Things filming locations. In April 2024, we packed up all of our belongings in our car and drove from Connecticut to California to start a new life. We traveled through many states, visited family, took tons of pictures and videos, and loved every second of it. The best adventure has been loving him. Our story has just begun.
