South Table Mountain
This hike is walkable from our apartment, and we regularly visit. Great views of both Denver and Golden, a relatively flat hike after you get to the top of the plateau.
North Table Mountain Park West Trailhead
This hike is more challenging than the South Table Mountain trail but offers stunning views of Golden, the Coors Factory, and Castle Rock overlooking the town of Golden. Also can view prairie dogs colonies, lush rolling hills, and beautiful rock formations.
Coors Brewery Tour
MUST make reservations online as early as 3 weeks before the date you intend to visit. Get tickets online, tours are restricted with Covid, and a tasting tour is also an option. They will not allow visitors with no reservations, so please make your plans accordingly!
Golden City Brewery
Try "the Geologist" beer!
Mines Museum of Earth Science
Always free entry, features a stunning mineral and rock collection. Pieces like raw gold and silver, diamonds, and an Apollo 15 Moon Rock. Very worth the visit. Parking is easy in the nearby parking garage.
Golden History Museum
Free entry and has lots of history about the mining town of Golden. Also is next to a beautiful flowing creek that runs through the center of town, where you can view the M on Lookout Mountain overlooking the School of Mines.
Windy Saddle Cafe
Great coffee and baked items at this local coffee shop in the heart of downtown Golden. Parking can be found in nearby garages and is free on weekends in most spots. Be sure to check out the creek down the street with a cute walking trail and historical signs.
