IT'S HAPPENING!

We're finally doing this.

Hello friends and family! We are so excited to announce that we have rescheduled our wedding to Saturday, September 25, 2021! Our newly planned wedding will be a smaller and more intimate celebration, so unfortunately we have had to shrink our guest list. We are trying to plan another, less formal celebration that we can invite everyone to, but that's still TBD at this moment. Love, Tess & Ryan

How We Met

Our Mutual Friend

Like most modern couples these days, we met online. We both had forces pulling us to Denver from out of state, and once here, we knew we were staying. All that was missing was someone to share the adventures with. Little did Tess know that she would find THE one just 4 months after moving to Colorado... We met up at OMF (Our Mutual Friend) Brewery in RiNo for 'keep the glass' night. Ryan rode his bike in the rain, and Tess told him about her recent mountain adventures since moving to Colorado. We have been hiking and sharing beers together ever since that day.

The Proposal

Love at 14,148 feet

Anyone who knows us together knows that we love hiking. So it's only fitting that we got engaged on a Colorado 14er... August 10, 2019 - three years after we met - we set out to summit Mount Democrat. Once we reached the saddle, the clouds started rolling in, bringing freezing rain and winds. The smart thing to do would have been to go back down at this point, but we were determined, so we carried on. When we reached the summit, the conditions had worsened, so we had to make this quick! Ryan grabbed a man who had no idea how to operate an iPhone to take our picture. As Tess was trying to coach him through it, Ryan said "well I better do this while you're still disoriented (from lack of oxygen) and don't know what you're saying..." and proceeded to kneel down. He pulled out the ring, asked the question, & Tess answered "yes!" Immediately following this, a HUGE clap of thunder startled us back to reality. We booked it down the mountain, and eventually, the rain stopped as we arrived back at the trail head. We put the ring back on, took a few photos, and headed home - muddy, exhausted and ecstatically engaged. We are so excited to share this day with you all! We hope you love Denver as much as we do. See you in September!
