Ours is a story written by divine timing. We met just a few short weeks before Tegha was set to graduate from her Master’s program in Chicago and move to Austin, Texas. Neither of us expected our connection to deepen so quickly, and certainly, neither of us planned on starting a long-distance relationship. But from the very beginning, we both sensed that this was something different something God-ordained. So we trusted that He was in control and ordering our footsteps. After graduation, Tegha returned to England to spend time with her family. That marked our first experience with long distance. We were separated by continents and time zones, but even in that physical distance, we felt deeply connected closer than ever. Looking back, we can clearly see God’s hand at work, holding us together across oceans. When Tegha returned to the U.S. and began a new chapter in Texas, our journey continued now in different cities, but with the same unwavering love. From long FaceTime calls with Tomiwa cheering Tegha on as she assembled furniture in her new apartment, to flights back and forth just to spend precious time together every moment brought us closer. Each shared laugh, prayer, and milestone confirmed what we already knew: this love was built to last. And then, less than a year after we officially began our relationship, Tomiwa asked the question that would change everything and of course, Tegha said yes. Through every chapter, every change, and every mile between us, God has been at the very centre of our love story. And now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we can’t wait to walk into the future together hand in hand, hearts aligned, and God leading the way.

In October 2024, Tegha and Tomiwa took a special trip to England to spend time with Tegha's family. During one of their day trips to London, they visited the stunning Kyoto Gardens in Holland Park. Tomiwa, ever the planner, set up their tripod, suggesting they do a "photoshoot" together. Tegha eagerly got into place, practicing her best poses. But when she turned around, she was met with the most unexpected sight, Tomiwa on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. Completely caught off guard, Tegha was so overwhelmed that she fell to her knees beside him, blurting out, "What do I say?" Through laughter, tears, and a resounding "Yes," our love story turned into a beautiful new chapter.
